Welcome to No Books of Men! We are a modern alternate history board set in a magical school nestled in the Columbiana Valley of the Rocky Mountains. Students of the Collegium Illustrata Columbiana (commonly called simply The Academy) are free to explore their wildest imaginations in learning the mystic arts, so long as it does not jeopardize the ongoing Shadow War with the Exarchs. How will you live up to the legacies of Merlin?

What follows is a complete list of NPCs currently available for use anywhere in the Columbiana Valley. Any character that you see on this listing is available to be mentioned or appear in threads as cameos and can be used by any player who wishes to use them thusly. All we ask is that you keep them relatively in-character as written and don't have anything drastic happen to them (or by them), such as death or the like. These are characters known in the valley and available for flavor, so use them!

Additionally, anyone who wishes to have an extended thread with any character listed here is more than welcome to do so! Please contact a member of our admin staff and we will arrange to thread them with you. We ask that you don't pilot any of these folks long term yourselves, as they are often being used for something plot-related and we wish to keep them more-or-less consistent across threads. Thank you!

Finally, some of these NPCs can be adopted by players who wish to make them a PC! At the end of each description is a simple "Adoptable as PC?" field, if that is marked as "Yes" you can take them for your own! Simply contact an admin and we'll help you customize the character to your liking and get you approved for play!

Note: Those NPCs marked as "No" in the Adoptable field are done so because the admin team has plans for said character in upcoming plots. They are not adoptable until they have fulfilled their role in the plot, but after they may become available. So, if you're interested in a non-adoptable character, stay tuned and they might just be yours at some point!

Sleeper/Other and Undergrad NPCs

Character Name: Spencer Bailey

Alias: Spence

Age: 35

Character Type: Sleeper

Profession: Police Officer

Known Affiliations: Columbiana PD

PB: Bill Hader

Personality: Spencer is a simple man with a simple goal: to do his job, and do it well. Unfortunately for Officer Bailey, his job involves patrolling the streets of Columbiana. There's a lot of weird crap that goes down in the valley, and Spencer doesn't have a way to explain any of it. That's the sort of thing that can leave a man rife with paranoia, but Spencer's just a touch too daft to let it truly get to him. So he calks things like Eldritch monstrosities rising from the mountain tops and kids chucking fireballs on any number of inexplicable things, that is, when they manage to catch his attention. Spencer had an impressive lack of situational awareness for a man whose job relies heavily on such a thing.

Some cops are stalwart, upstanding men of action. Spencer is impressively lazy, doing as little actual work as possible to get a job done, concerned only with the "cool" aspects of being a cop. Getting to carry a gun, eating fast food in the car, driving through red lights with the sirens on, yelling at teenagers... job perks, all of them. It's all that processing paperwork that's a real drag here.

Character Name: Percival Belmont

Alias: Percy, Reginald Parlay, Countless Others

Age: 41

Character Type: Sleeper

Profession: Antiques Dealer

House/Seeming: N/A

Known Affiliations: The Watchtowers

PB: Frank Whaley

Personality: Percy is, in a word, neurotic. He prescribes to numerous conspiracy theories, ranging from simple aliens to elaborate shadow government conspiracies which extend from top to bottom. Partially as a result, he refuses to eat any food that he did not prepare himself, and he rarely trusts any thing offered to him, food or otherwise. He also has a strange paternalistic nature, likely stemming from him losing contact with his son, and he tends to “adopt” some individuals, who are the few people he truly trusts.

Additionally, he rationalizes everything he doesn't understand, approaching most things from a scholastic viewpoint any time he is confronted with the unknown. This is likely connected to his eternally growing paranoia, as he adapts even the truly random into an increasingly complex picture.

Percy occasionally breaks down, becoming unstable and violent to a fault, assaulting nearly anything and everything that moves nearby. These breakdowns generally last until someone successfully restrains him and forces him to spend some time “calming down.” Related to these breakdowns is Percy's believed isolation, the longer he is left alone with his thoughts the more convinced that everything around him is alive and watching him with malevolence.

Character Name: Lawrence Cassady

Alias: "Weekend Warrior" (Deedname)

Age: 41

Character Type: Werewolf

Profession: Groundskeeper, Philosophy Professor

House/Seeming: Bone Shadows

Known Affiliations: Gardeners (Allied, not a member)

PB: Nikolai Valuev

Personality: Zenned out, Neo-Romantic Beat Shramana. At least, that is how Lawrence would describe himself. He is a proud student of the “Beat” generation of writers and philosophers, and he has internalized their methods of though to the point of becoming a lifestyle. He lets nothing bother him overmuch. Borrowing some elements of Eastern philosophy and Buddhism through the lens of the rebellious writers of the pre-war world, Lawrence tries to live up to the ideas of the Zen monks of the past. This does not mean that he denies the darker and more violent nature of his nature, but rather he attempts to balance these urges with meditation and self-control. These strategies do much to calm and center Lawrence, but this self-awareness also leads him to sometimes embracing his brutish side, as it is in his nature as much as his zen-style mindset. It all comes down to finding the balance between all aspects of his life.

Another element that Lawrence has internalized from his Beat idols is the idea of Neo-Romanticism. The emphasis of those writers on the human condition and emotion has inspired Lawrence. Adding to and enhancing his understanding of Zen ideas, Lawrence embraces every element that remains within him that makes him human. He does not, however, ever deny that, while he is still human on some level, he is not such a simple creature any more. This has led to a desire to find exactly what it is that makes a Super Mutant, and where he fits into the world around him as a result.

This quest to find self-identity has led Lawrence to only one conclusion, that the quest itself is all important. Following in the footsteps of both Kerouac and the wandering monks of antiquity, Lawrence has set himself on the path of the Shramanas. Through travel and interaction with the world as a whole, he can find the truth that he so doggedly seeks. It is through struggle, strife, and suffering that knowledge of the self and the world can be found. Thus, he has put himself into a self-imposed exile and denied himself a true “home.” He will walk the lonely roads of the West for as long as his feet will carry him forward, and thus he hopes to someday find enlightenment.

Character Name: Justin Dunst

Alias: J.D., Dunst

Age: 33

Character Type: Sleeper

Profession: Police Officer

Known Affiliations: Columbiana PD

PB: Seth Rogan

Personality: Amiable and friendly, Justin seems almost out of place on the police force. He honestly wants to help people in whatever way possible. Always quick with a joke, generous with smiles, and easy to get laughing, Justin loves his life and the people in it. The fact that he's a bit daft doesn't hurt him much in this regard, but it makes him seem all the more harmless.

His harmless appearance isn't entirely accurate, however. Having lived in Columbiana his whole life, Justin knows that there's something else at work behind the scenes in his town. He doesn't know what it is, but his natural curiosity keeps him alert. He is still kind of daft though, so while he obsesses over fortunetellers, he misses the wizards dueling in the woods behind him. He ca defend himself against most things he encounters, but if only he could notice those threats in the first place...

Character Name: Keith Lynn Feely

Alias: Feely, Officer Feely

Age: 36

Character Type: Sleeper

Profession: Police Officer

Known Affiliations: Columbiana PD

PB: Andy Samburg

Personality: Keith is... the equivalent of a human Labrador retriever, he's a touch hyperactive, a bit too friendly...honestly far too trusting and empathetic. It's a small wonder he's a cop at all. Though the story goes that he didn't always have that altruistic streak when he first came in from the academy, but no one can either confirm or deny those rumors. Including Keith, who typically just blinks vacantly at any question passed by him.

Though these days, no one complains, because really is terrible at his job, he rides his bike through the village trying to keep the hooligans around the mall from getting too rowdy 0 sure they steal his bike all the time, but its just kids being kids. As for any of the weirdness that the valley brings into his town - he seems just as blissfully unaware of that as anything else. Which is a bit disconcerting if you're a dyed in the wool local.

Character Name: David Hilyer-Zahovy

Alias: N/A

Age: 18

Character Type: Mage

Profession: Student

House/Seeming: Jerbiton

Known Affiliations: S.E.L.F.

PB: Luke Pasqualino

Personality: David has probably never been happy. He's just one of those people who never sees the bright side of life, but generally speaking...hasn't seen anything more then shit. So he acts accordingly. A quiet young man most of the time as he looks down his nose at others with a heightened sense of superiority for what he's had to put up with during his short tour of existence. The average hipster to those who wouldn't know much better. Which would seem completely normal of a teenager of his upbringing except that most teenagers aren't as volatile as David is...

Yes David is exactly what people warn about when it comes to bottling up emotions, he sits and he stews and he types his diatribes on the internet, ready to burst. Nine times out of ten, he's absolutely harmless- but then there's that part of him that makes very bad decisions in very reactive, snap manner. That one tenth of David is the percentage that people should be frightened of, because while well behaved most of the time, David only mirrors how to act in pleasant company, on his own terms he is nearly ruthless, not quite understanding the connection of emotional impact what-so-ever. His is a world of logistics, and logistics are not kind...so neither he when something makes more sense to him, he acts upon it. Though he's rarely if ever selfish, no for him the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few- which is why he's a strong supporter of SELF.

As far as Enlightened rights go, David is a firebrand, it's really one of the few things that seems to rile him up with any efficiency, no matter the species for him there is no reason to hide or be shamed for what you are. He had spend much of his life guilty about who he was, and he's going to make damn sure that no one else ever has to feel the way he did, he was lucky the way things fell in place for him...and he's grateful for his family, but David knows that's not how things work for most people who are supernatural creatures. They only have each other, when honestly they shouldn't have to hide at all.

David however isn't all revolutionary thoughts and sulky huffing. He might mirror, but he's particularly charming doing so when he steps out of his dorm. Maybe it's all the mind magic, but he tends to laugh easily, and flow naturally into conversation- especially with strangers. Even going so far as to be a bit of a flirt. He genuinely enjoys parties, and going out...because it keeps him from getting too wrapped up in the things that weigh at his mind, though substance abuse isn't quite a problem, he's falling into the trap of the college freshmen, forgetting what's really important when going to school. Building relationships might be nice, but actually doing work...well, David has some balancing to work on. Hopefully he can figure something out before something comes to a head.

Character Name: Ira Deere

Alias: Joseph Hirsch, Joe

Age: 73

Character Type: Risen

Profession: Transient

Known Affiliations: Watchtower

PB: Richard Belzer

Personality: Hirsch is complicated man, he's perhaps equal parts the most bitter but easy going old man in the village. But then again, he's a realist about things, he knows that the world might or might not end in his existence (getting a bit less likely now that he's hitting old age). But there's something to be said about preparedness...he's utilitarian about things like that, if not for him, for someone else. Which is fine by his standards, which are also extremely high as well as low. Funny sounding of course to those more logically minded but he seems to have more worries about others than himself, and he's fine with that as well.

See it's hard to keep a solid grasp on self as your faculties start to go- especially when you've been juggling lies for at least a good forty years. He's been a dutiful soldier, a doting husband and a devoted father...yet all of that has been more or less untrue, that was someone elses' life, he never loved the bitch and quite frankly, it was someone elses' kid. But he's terribly good at taking roles and making them his. Usually not for his own good but for the benefit of others. See...Hirsch is a generous man, with a kind heart and all the understanding in the world how the road to hell is paved. But it doesn't really matter now does it?

So its all in good fun by this point, he keeps a smile on his face, a pop in his step- it's like that old Billy Joel song- quick with a joke or light up your smoke...but instead of simply wishing to be somewhere else, well...Hirsch would just rather it all be over with, preferably more with a bang than a whimper.

Character Name: Quentin Reid Mansfield

Alias: Carlos Danger

Age: 19

Character Type: Sleeper

Profession: Graduate Student in the field of Psychology (Specialty: Microexpressions and Human Behavior)

House/Seeming: N/A

Known Affiliations: S.E.L.F.

PB:

Personality: Reckless, hot tempered, and aggressive, these traits wouldn't be too uncommon for any young male except for the fact that the youth in question was also a certifiable genius. It would have been enough that the problem would have taken care of itself if he hadn't been smart enough to save his own ass. What's worse is that Quentin knows he's smarter than pretty much most everyone around him and flaunts his intelligence; in fact, he's quite arrogant and he's self aware enough to say he is as well. He's shamelessly rude, protecting himself with sarcasm and a patronizing mannerism between bouts of what might pass off as a sense of humor if you're into dark comedy. Unpleasant as he is however Quentin can have a helpful and rather nice streak to him from time to time. Especially if it allows him a chance to show off.

Quentin is very opinionated, a regular Victorian-stylized anarchist, highly educated, but enraged, he cannot tell you what it is about his situation and the situation of society that makes him so angry, just, that it does. He feels he knows that the end isn't coming, but rather already happened, and now its just a matter of time before society crumbles. It doesn't matter who's in charge, the sleepers, the Exarchs, the Order or anything else...its already too late. The only thing you can do, is treat each other with some decency before the inevitable, maybe even get in a few shots to make a point and have some fun. He loathes that people, especially the Order can't see that that, they're dead in the water and can't tell that they're drowning. The only way to keep things on the level is for there to be equality- a universal understanding, but it appears that everyone else is too dumb to figure that out...that societal ignorance only serves to fuel Quentin's arrogance. The people, all the people deserve to know what the world is like after all, we all live there anyways might as well make room.

Fortunately Quentin tends to be a bit irrational...and stubborn to boot. He's a member of SELF through and through even though he doesn't have a spot of magical ability to his name (that anyone can see). He's drank the Kool-Aid and believes that humans and the supernatural should be aware of each other and able to interact freely- hell, he's proof it can be done! But he's smart enough not to spout this crap out in the open, or with mixed company...it would take all of five minutes before he would be up to his ass in cops or at the very least, the angry natives. He knows better after all, he's pissy and idealistic- not suicidal.

His greatest flaw is his inability to think things through as he usually gets caught up in theories and emotional responses as opposed to concrete facts and logic. And sometimes he gets a wee scatter shot when he does anything. In the long run he's nothing more than a normal impassioned teenage youth given far too much freedom to do what he wants. Looking more on ideals than anything else, he can be gullible and easily lead astray thanks in part to his pride- flattery really does get you anywhere with Quentin as he's equal parts shallow and deep. On that same note he can be a high strung pain in the ass to anyone that gives him a hard time, pushing back twice as hard when given any amount of criticism.

It could be noted that as Quentin gets older, and perhaps tries to actually get along with others within SELF then butt heads with them, he could be a force to be reckoned with- a revolutionary leader if he tried. But for now, he's a mere child, an angry, flailing child who is powerless to change the world around him. Lashing violently against everyone and everyone who would help or hurt him, still fighting a war that ended ages ago that he was never able to be a part of. A regular rebel without a cause.

PB: David Bradley / Sanjay Dutt / Donald Glover / Graham Greene / Victor Wong (Varying Appearance)

Personality: Cheeky, irreverent, and sarcastic... Randy's kind of a dick and he knows it. Rude and offensive, Randy seems to enjoy pushing other people's buttons. Character Name: Douglas Blackwood

Alias: Doug, Blackwood

Age: 39

Character Type: Mage

Profession: Bookstore co-Owner

House/Seeming: Criamon

Known Affiliations: The Watchtowers

PB: Alexis Denisof

Personality: Doug is a man with two sides. In public, he is a pillar of propriety. He treats others with respect and understanding, even the most degenerate of humanity. He shows some small disdain for those who cannot see reason and refuses to think for themselves, but he tries to be understanding and let them leave in peace. Etiquette is the name of the game and he will do anything that protocol demands in a given situation.

When the doors have been closed to the public however, Doug becomes a different and more truthful man. His passions turn darker and the annoyances of the day rise to the forefront of his mind. Bitterness and sarcasm come to dominate his conversations and thoughts. He becomes snarky and his tongue becomes barbed. Sure, he rarely does anything truly malicious or sinister, but he no longer seems to cares for propriety. When situations arise which require agression, Blackwood knows his strengths and plays to them; planning as far ahead as possible, adapting switfly and intelligently to changing circumstances, laying traps, and doing what he must to win.

House/Seeming: Solificati

Known Affiliations: The Watchtowers

PB: Bill Murray

Personality: Eccentric, weird, drugged out, paranoid, and a plethora of other colorful adjectives could easily be applied to Dexter. All are true and none are something he'd dispute. Unabashed and unashamed of what others think of him, Dexter continues about his life with a purpose that even he seems somewhat unsure of at times.

Character Name: Jennifer Bridges

Alias: Jen

Age: 34

Character Type: Mage

Profession: House Magister, Conservation/Shamanism Professor

House/Seeming: Meritina

Known Affiliations: Ghost Wheel Society (Loose affiliation of shaman)

PB: Anna Tsuchiya

Personality: She is typically calm and serene, letting no one and no thing bothers her. She hears the wisdom of the ages, communicated by the realities of today. Traditions, Exarchs, whoever it is, they all hear its beat, but miss its rhythm. She shares her wisdom to those who ask, but never to those who don’t; wisdom cannot be taught, only learned. She agrees with the Zen Buddhists, in that only in nonsense can sense be found; always be cryptic and confusing, as these are the facilitators of learning.

At least, that is what her frequently reincarnated soul tells her. The day-to-day reality of Jen's life is a bit different. She likes loud music, but doesn't get loud herself. She likes to meditate, but is just as likely to go skinny dipping with friends. She's calm usually, but wild sometimes too. Above all, she's trying find who she is as an individual, separate from the chaotic din of past lives chatting away in her head.

Character Name: Emil Hastings

Alias: Doc, Hastings, Magister Scholae bani Columbiana, Dr. Ferrous (in his youth)

Age: 115

Character Type: Mage

Profession: Headmaster of Columbiana University

House/Seeming: Verditius

Known Affiliations: Freemasons, The Gardeners

PB: Christopher Lloyd

Personality: Hastings is a generally happy and amiable man, even if his mind is a bit dotty with age. He still wonders to this day exactly how he ended up being headmaster of a school, let alone the Columbiana Academy. After all, he is far more often found dressed in a lab coat thrown over his pajamas and tinkering with some invention in his personal lab than in his office in the Administration building. Not to mention that he has little interest in actually running the school. "Oh no, that's what I have Mansfield for. He is so very helpful..."

That doesn't mean that he is completely detached from the school, or reality as some suspect. No, he greatly enjoys wandering the halls through the virtual feed from his "walking eye" robot as it patrols the school and its grounds. Not to mention that he takes any threats to his school or his students very seriously. This ranges from an incursion from the Exarchs to an orphan simply not allowed to stay in his dorm over winter and summer breaks. Hastings may be dotty, and more than a little mad, but his heart is always firmly in the right place.

Character Name: Richard Mansfield

Alias: Rich, Mansfield, Magister Mundi bani Columbiana

Age: 65

Character Type: Mage

Profession: Assistant Headmaster

House/Seeming: Solificati

Known Affiliations: Freemasons, The Gardeners

PB: Nick Offerman

Personality: Mansfield is made of some pretty stern stuff. Strict, stern, and a stickler for rules, Mansfield is a tough person to deal with at the best of times. Even when amongst peers and "letting his hair down," Mansfield has the feeling of a grizzled old veteran and is more like to talk of past glories and warn of future danger than truly relax.

Despite this harsh exterior, Mansfield truly believes in the school's mission. The Shadow War rages on beyond the Valley and the best a poorly trained mage can expect from this cruel world is to be used, abused, and discarded by the Exarchs. At its worst, the world will simply grind up and spit out the ruined remnants of a person. Mansfield would do anything to protect his charges from that fate, even if they never thank him for it.

Character Name: Salomon Silverman

Alias: Sal, Murshid Soloman Caspi

Age: 87

Character Type: Mage

Profession: House Magister, Religion Professor

House/Seeming: Batini

Known Affiliations: Janissaries

PB: Chevy Chase

Personality: Sal's a delightful old man. Always quick with a joke (usually more groan-worthy than a kneeslapper, but still), and full of nothing but smiles and kind words for everyone. He's not always the quickest on the uptake, but he's a man who's seen a lot in him time and he loves to share his wealth of knowledge, both mundane and mystical, with others. Well, that and some cookies. Maybe some tea. Or, would you prefer coffee? What? We're in class? I don't see what that has to do with coffee, but I suppose if you feel we've gotten off track...

Genuine and honest, Sal is loathe to lie and has nothing to hide. he wants the world to be a better place for everyone. After all, isn't that what the Order is all about? Sure, people talk about how its all about opposing the Exarchs, but the Exarchs aren't anything more than authoritarian jerks right? Sure, they're real and they're dangerous, but in the end the Order doesn't oppose them. If the Exarchs didn't exist, something else would have taken their place. There have always been those who seek to divide and control those "beneath" themselves and they can only be opposed by opening oneself to wisdom and something greater than yourself. Right?

Character Name: Tomas Sparks

Alias: Tom, Doc Sparks

Age: 38

Character Type: Mage

Profession: Associate Professor of Physical and Outdoor Education

House/Seeming: Criamon

Known Affiliations: Freemasons

PB: David Frampton

Personality: Energetic and enthusiastic, Tom is the product of a different time. Growing up on pulp heroes and sweat novels, Tom has a firm idea of what makes a "man" and does everything in his power to live up to this ideal. Strong, charismatic, athletic, and educated, Tom epitomizes a pulp hero that he even finds being mistaken for an "Indiana" sort of guy a compliment and not an insult.

Down below his "manly" exterior, Tom is a bit more fragile than he lets on. Beneath the man he has become, Tom still holds on to the insecure and sickly little boy that he once was. Almost hungry for attention and approval/admiration from his peers, Tom can be downright reckless. This "inner child" isn't all bad, however, as it makes him excellent at relating to both children and teens, as he has never lost that youthful joie de vivre.

Unfortunately, everything he loves is frequently also the source of his stress. His family is dysfunctional at best, his hobbies are frequently disrupted by his brother-in-law, and he is tasked with tending to the mental/emotional needs of nearly a thousand magically talented twenty-somethings. Changeling NPCs

user posted image

Character Name: Addison Linton Jr

Alias: Adam, King Flintbright of the NERO Empire (LARP)

Age: ??

Character Type: Changeling

Profession: Duke of the Autumn Court/ Comicbook Store Co-Owner

Seeming: Fairest (Draconic)

PB: Echo Kellum

Personality: Adam is bumbling, bubbly and friendly unto the point of stumbling over himself, while uncertain and lacking in confidence in his social life given the fact that he's not exactly the man he used to be...and well, never mind that he never ever was much of a social man even though he was blessed with the gift of gab. He constantly talks, and tries to come off as entertaining and engaging, though usually he doesn't care enough to keep up the facade at all times, its those days he seems a bit more tired than usual and a little less animated. Though he's always pleasant, even though he'd rather be alone.

Really, Adam is just one bad day from falling off the deep end, though he puts on a good facade, he's an empty sad man who feels pretty much nothing. Deeply lonely he throws himself at whatever thing might keep him occupied, comic books, games of all sorts, remembering or reciting scripts verbatim, and singing old music from his youth (gangster rap mostly, go figure)- it doesn't really matter so long as it serves as proper escapism, because the alternative is something he doesn't really want to deal with.

There was a once upon a time, where Adam took pride in his work. He did well, he helped save the sick until something made people so sick that there was so saving them any longer. Adam is mad at how things shook out- people shouldn't have allowed this to happen! Good people died because there weren't checks in balances kept. There's a lot of self righteous still churning within Adam he hasn't quite learned to let things go and while he didn't exactly slip into survivors guilt elegantly, he manages now. Taking joy in what he can, because he's outlived most of his friends and family, and those who aren't dead have blown to the four corners of the world never to be seen again.

But life on the run hasn't taken from Adam's kindness, assisting those on his wanderings through the Pacific Northwest...it puts a smile on his face being the traveling doctor who asks for little in return. In a sense, it's his new job.. He takes his job seriously...and tries to not be with everything else. In fact he grows very uncomfortable when things get a bit too close to home- his life is tough, and it takes a lot out of him. He's quick to make himself the clown when the days get long or dark thoughts float into his head, failure has made him more and more unable to cope.

The stress and perhaps breeding has not been Adam's friend however, brain wasn't up to the task of dealing with so much loss so quickly and it shows- though he's competent, he tends to forget little things like times, or dates...He remembers things that have little significance to the then, and now...Its just as though he's a few steps too in sync or out of sync with the world he lives in now. For the most part he's very unaware how mixed up he can get, which could be a small blessing in disguise.

Character Name: Nathan Kilne

Alias: "Nate," the Duke of Winter

Age: 33

Character Type: Changeling

Profession: Couch Potato, Couch Surfer, Baron of the Winter Court

House/Seeming: Elemental (Earth)

Known Affiliations: Winter Court

PB: Dylan Moran

Personality: Nathan is much like the earth which now permeates his being, that is he is of two states. The first, and by far most common, is a state of calm quiescence. Nine days of ten, Nathan is content to simply lay in his reserved portion of the couch in his friend June's (formerly Anna's) apartment. It is his place and he is comfortable there. Even better, his friends basically expect him to always be there and he likes to please them with his consistency. Though rarely, he does sometimes quietly tag along with their youthful shenanigans, but even then he is more inclined to watch than participate.

Unfortunately for those who cross him however, Nathan does have another side. He is a man deeply scarred by his time in Arcadia and those are memories he prefers stay forgotten alongside his memories of before he was taken (and worse his memories of seeing his wife with his fetch for the first time). When those memories are forced to the surface, be it through threats to his home/friends or through incursions from Arcadia, Nathan's rage shakes the Earth to its core. Moving with all the force of the Earth itself, Nathan quickly and brutally extinguishes that which forced his hand before quietly returning to his state of hiding from his problems...
